Bloom 57 Humbucker

The Bloom 57 set is built to capture the sweetness of the earliest PAF humbuckers. It is the warmest and softest of the lineup, delivering a smooth, rounded tone while still remaining very vocal in character. Notes seem to bloom effortlessly, with a gentle, slightly slower attack and a natural compression that makes every phrase feel fluid.

The top end is sweet and never harsh, while the low end remains big but defined, striking a nice balance. It excels at lead playing and clean chords, offering a very singing quality that allows notes to sustain and flow with ease.

Part of this character can be traced back to the early days of PAF production in Kalamazoo. After the transition from P90s, remaining stocks of Alnico III magnets were still being used in some of the earliest humbuckers. In the Bloom 57, this is reflected in the neck pickup, contributing to its softer attack, reduced magnetic pull and open, woody response. The bridge pickup features an Alnico II magnet, adding warmth, sweetness and a slightly looser feel under the fingers.

Compared to the Snap 58, the Bloom 57 is less percussive, trading bite for warmth and immediacy for additional smoothness. It still responds beautifully to touch, but always with a softer edge, making it an inspiring choice for highly melodic playing, especially on the cleaner side.

The Bloom 57 is ideal for players who are looking for a warm, organic and highly musical PAF clone.
